an odd title but quite true. Since the start of December I have had a growing problem in swollowing, speaking has been fine but I have to amke an extra effort to get food and drink down. Eventually went to Doc's and today had the Hospital appointment for ENT, an emergency one only took 2 weeks to go through. Had a 10 minute look and the Doc decide I was donw for surgery, wanted me admitted there and then but could not fit me in, pr-op tomorrow (thursday) and surgery Fruday , start with a bioposy of voice box and throat and then ..... as necessary
Givne the short notice am i little scared, if there had been a few days inbetween would have been ok but at once and I have to go through another 48 hrs before anything happens.
As a Christian one would think that I would be content to be in God's hands, and it all us, but I am also human and prone to the same worries and concerns as the rest of the world. Not sure what the lesson is from this and hope to come back to this blog and explore the issue a bit further another day
but for now it is all with God

Saturday...another long day
it has been another long day.... up at 4 two sermons to write for tomorrow morning and evening, different churches and different needs, plus a bit for an online paper. .... I need a rest ;)did get my old mans nap in the middle.
I do wonder how one knows when you have too much to do? and what do you do about it. Do you carry on until burn out an just drop every thing or should you start to drop what you can, and how do you make that decision?
Only a short note and it really is me talking to me (don't comment on that bit) .
hmmm! time to sleep on it

it's been a long long time
Since I last updated, before Christmas so almost a full quarter, I do have to admit that it has been a case of "can not be bothered". You know the feeling; you come in from a long day on the road then even longer on the keyboard, and the last thing you want to do when you get home is go on the laptop... Anyway after prompting from a good friend of mine, I'm back!
it's been a quarter of mixed emotion, couple of funerals, and births and baptisms. Talk about the circle of life, if you look carefully it is watching a generation pass away and a new generation coming, strange how you look at life when you believe in life everlasting! Dr D.L Moody (of Sankey and Moody fame and Moody Church Chicago) was once asked when he was in his 60's if he felt old, "old" he said "i will never be old, for even when i move from this life to life eternal, I will still be young to sing God's praises" (not a direct quote) I was talking around this thought to a friend of mine and it is interesting then although i am getting on, i feel as young now working for God as when I first started work some 27 years ago.
It's been strange for weather in the UK,even had snow here; we don't get snow! and as usual with only about 3 inches it brought us all to a halt, but before those in far off lands brag about their levels of snow and how they keep working remember we DON'T get snow so we don't prepare for it and no it is not worth being prepared because it will probably be another 10 years before we get a similar winter, or should that be spring. It does seem to be that the seasons are moving out of their usual time zone...
On the home front I have come to the end of Section "B" in the Local preacher training I am doing, all I need do now is double check the papers and agree with with my tutor and move on to "C" all change!
think that is enough of a ramble, not going to talk about work... that really gets depressing. Never know may have something quite exciting to put in this blog next time, but then again.
prayers for all who read
